Postdoctoral Lecture Qualification

On January 20th, 2012, I successfully defended my habilitation treatise (Habilitationsschrift) at the Faculty of Computer Science and Automation of the Ilmenau University of Technology. Hence, I successfully passed a three step procedure consisting of a formal review process of the habilitation treatise, a review process judging on my educational ability, and a scientific colloquium. On May 5th, 2012 I received the official document attesting postdoctoral lecture qualification in practical computer science (Habilitation im Fachgebiet Praktische Informatik).

As of August 11, 2010 I am a Juniorprofessor at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the area of "Mobile Media." Nevertheless, I’ll continue to provide you with as many publications as possible here. I’ll continue my research on context aware mobile information systems and energy aware software.

Some years ago I started writing a German textbook on the interna of MySQL. Due to a lack of time I had to stop the entire project. However, I almost finished my research and writing on MyISAM. MyISAM is a default storage plugin for MySQL. It is quite old but frequently used and available as open source. I decided to compile the written stuff in form of a "beta-book". You might download Version 0.1 here. Feel free to contacting me if you want to help finishing or translating the text or if you want to use the figures for lectures or research.
